The cherry Shaker pedestal table or Candle Stand is modeled after a table built at the Hancock Shaker village in Massachusetts around 1830.  The curved legs are tapered and fixed to the hand turned column with sliding dovetails. The top is pinned to the pedestal with an integral turned tennon. The finish is satin gel varnish and wax.
