Compare the Quality and Durability of the Wood
The Janka test is one of the best measures of the ability of a wood species to withstand denting and wear. It measures the force required to embed a .444 inch steel ball into wood to half its diameter. The higher the number, the harder the wood, the more enduring the furniture. Our FSC certified hardwood Bolivian and Brazilian species all far surpass the "standard" for most high-end, department store outdoor furniture, which is teak. White cedar is another popular wood used for outdoor furniture- it is only about one tenth as hard as our woods.

Notes on Natural Oiled finish:
Over time, Bolivian Cherry, if ordered in the natural oil finish, can be expected to weather to a natural grey. If the grey tone is preferred, no maintenance is necessary. If the original reddish color is preferred, it can be restored by periodic applications of linseed oil. If used indoors, the linseed oil makes a beautiful stain lustre look, which deepens over time - the color will not fade as it does untreated outdoors.
Notes on Shipping and Assembly:
These tables are shipped fully assembled with the exception of the 4 legs. Four screws are included for you to arttach the legs.
