At Vermont Woods Studios, we ensure that your valuable, handcrafted furniture pieces are shipped with the same high standards of excellence that they were made with. We typically use the same shippers that serve Sotheby's and Christie's and have rarely had a problem with the results.
Free shipping is offered for most locations in the lower 48, with a few exceptions like Martha's Vineyard, Fire Island, NY and a few other remote locations where access is particularly difficult. In those cases, please advise at the time of purchase so we can let you know if additional shipping charges must be applied. Otherwise an assessment may be made at the time of delivery.
- BLANKET WRAP SHIPPING OPTION- FREE
Our recommendation is to have your furniture shipped and delivered by our award-winning executive moving company. Their trained and experienced drivers will carefully blanket wrap each piece of furniture and pack it safely on to their truck. Transit may take an additional 1 to 5 weeks depending on your location. We will advise you more accurately upon order processing and will update you with a phone call and email, as your delivery date gets closer. The shipper will work with you to schedule your delivery within a 4 hour window. Upon arrival, your furniture will be brought into your house, unwrapped by the delivery crew and positioned in any room you choose, any required assembly will be completed (such as setting up a bed), and any packing material will be removed. At that time you will carefully inspect each piece to be sure that no damage has occurred during shipping. In the rare case that damage occurs, customers must note it on the shipper's waybill and contact Vermont Woods Studios as soon as possible. Please read more about this below.
We recommend this blanket wrap shipping option for four reasons. First, our customers have great praise for the high level of personal service they receive with this method. Second, there is no packaging material to dispose of, so the environmental benefit is substantial. Third, in all of our blanket wrapped shipment history, we have had only one incident of damage and that was very minimal and was quickly repaired to the customers complete satisfaction. And fourth, it's FREE! The downside of blanket wrapping is the time frame involved, 1-5 weeks, so we have added an express option as described below.
- EXPRESS SHIPPING OPTION, 10% Upcharge
With express shipping and delivery, you will receive your furniture within 2-10 days of completion. With Express shipping, your furniture will be wrapped and boxed in cartons and shipped via an express delivery service. You will receive a phone call and email to schedule a 4-8 hour delivery window, and the delivery crew will bring your furniture to your doorstep. At that time you will need to unpackage your furniture and carefully inspect each piece to be sure that no damage has occurred during shipping. Be sure to do this while the shipper waits and BEFORE you sign the waybill. The truth is that Express shippers are often in a hurry so please note that there is slightly greater risk of damage when using this option. In the case that damage occurs, customers must note it on the shipper's waybill and contact Vermont Woods Studios as soon as possible. Please read more about this below.
- SMALL ORDER EXPRESS SHIPPING OPTION, FRREE
If you have a small order that can be safely shipped via UPS, Fed Ex or similar carrier, this may be the best option for you. Again, it is free and we will discuss this option with you upon order processing.
- DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
Design and construction of items can require up to 8-14 weeks or more, depending on the degree of customization and the type of materials involved. Call for further details 888-390-5571 or email us.
- PLEASE RECYCLE OR REUSE YOUR PACKAGING
If you choose one of our express shipping options, there will be LOTS of packaging foam and cardboard to dispose of. Can you reuse it to ship holiday gifts, or store items? If not, is there a Mailboxes Etc (or similar packaging store) nearby that you could donate it to? Help us reduce our carbon footprint!
Regardless of the option you choose for shipping, please be sure to thoroughly inspect your furniture prior to signing the shipper's waybill. Usually our shippers do a fantastic job. However, in spite of our best efforts, in rare cases delivery personnel will be in a hurry and will tell you there is not time to inspect your furniture. Do not be fooled by their excuses and do NOT sign any waybills until you have thoroughly inspected your furniture. Do NOT accept damaged furniture. If damage is substantial, refuse the item and have the shipper return it to the sender for repair or replacement. Note any damage, however slight on the shipper's waybill, otherwise we cannot help you get resolution. Minor damage like a small scratch, is best handled through repairs which are done at your home and performed by experts on behalf of the shipper.
