Vermont Woods Studios is a leader in the preservation of ancient trees for use in heirloom quality furniture. In early 2006, an ancient maple, perhaps more than 150 years old was taken down from the site of the Vermont Agricultural Business Education Center in Brattleboro, Vermont because some of its limbs were brittle and a danger to passersby. The owner of this tree, Joe Famolare was determined to honor its history and preserve its legend. He has since worked wtih Vermont Woods Studios to build fine furniture items that will carry on the trees legacy for generations to come.

This leaf is a replica of one of the ancient maple's offspring's leaves. It has been inlaid into a sofa table built wtih ancient maple lumber. Marquetry artist, T. Breeze Verdant created the inlay and Ken Farabaugh crafted the table below.
