Every tree on the rainforest land where this wood was harvested is marked with a numbered identification tag and can be pinpointed on a map. Such measures allow a team of foresters to carry out low impact logging and thus guarantee that the forest will remain for many future generations.
Compare the Quality and Durability of our Wood
The Janka test is one of the best measures of the ability of a wood species to withstand denting and wear. It measures the force required to embed a .444 inch steel ball into wood to half its diameter. The higher the number, the harder the wood, the more enduring the furniture. Our FSC certified hardwood Bolivian and Brazilian species all far surpass the "standard" for most high-end, department store outdoor furniture, which is teak.
